At Oceanus, we know that great things happen when great people get together. The magic’s not only made in boardrooms or meeting KPIs, but in the everyday moments of teamwork, kindness, and innovation. That’s why in Oceanus’ Ambassador Programme, our staff handpick the colleagues who make work feel less like work and more like a shared mission.
The Oceanus Ambassador Programme fosters trust, alignment, and cohesion across the Oceanus Group. But it’s more than recognition. Since Oceanus subsidiaries operate independently, the programme creates a network of trusted influencers who strengthen connections and drive collaboration from within.
Now, it’s evolving beyond bridging staff and leadership—into a platform for meaningful internal change.
This isn’t your usual “top-down” management-driven selection. Oceanus’ Ambassadors were peer-nominated by those they’ve worked alongside – those who have borne witness to their quiet leadership, creative problem-solving and caring camaraderie.
From fresh faces to seasoned pros, our Ambassadors are a diverse and vibrant mix:
1. Jasmine Cheong: The Culture Builder
Group Manager, HR & Admin (7 years at Oceanus)
She strategically shapes our workplace through recruitment, policies, and employee engagement, ensuring Oceanus remains both compliant and people-focused.
2. Lee Zhu Ming: The Global Connector
Operations Manager (3 years at Oceanus)
He navigates complex international trade regulations, making sure our cross-border shipments move efficiently through customs.
3. Owen Ng: The Warehouse Optimiser
Warehouse Supervisor (2 years at Oceanus)
He balances day-to-day operations with implementing our new Warehouse Management System, keeping inventory flowing smoothly to customers.
4. Sebastian Tay: The Growth Driver
Head of Department, Operations (3 years at Oceanus)
He guides our operational growth from customer onboarding to financial partnerships, building the foundations for scale.
5. Gerald Wong: The Logistics Conductor
Personal Assistant, Logistics (1 year at Oceanus)
He ensures executives and important documents arrive exactly where and when they’re needed.
What makes these individuals remarkable isn’t just what they achieve at their respective jobs. It’s the positive impact they’ve made on those around them.
Why were our five Ambassadors selected? Here are the 10 qualities that their peers appreciate most in them:
1. Leading quietly and confidently: They’re the first to raise a hand when something needs doing.
2. Voicing ideas, lifting peers: They spark honest dialogue and elevate those around them.
3. Keeping cool when things get heated up: Delays? Chaos? They can be counted on to be steady hands-on-deck.
4. Reframing problems, finding new paths: They help teams move forward when stuck.
5. Walking the talk: Oceanus’ values aren’t just posters on the wall. Their peers see them embodying these qualities in day-to-day interactions.
6. Building team spirit: They bring energy and inclusiveness to workplace life.
7. Acting on strategy: They help translate leadership direction into ground action.
8. Making collaboration work: They help teams align, even when it’s not easy.
9. Standing firm in fairness: They’ve been fair, honest, and earn respect from both team-mates and managers alike.
10. Bridging across Oceanus: They help align staff and leadership across departments and subsidiaries, creating a more united Oceanus.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of our Ambassadors’ nomination notes, full of heartfelt affirmation:
“Shows concern for us; for example, when I was sick, took care of me and asked how I was recovering. When I have issues, offers optimistic advice and guidance.”
“Leadership qualities and ability to positively influence peers, which could inspire others to emulate the company’s values and goals.”
“Always take the initiative to offer help, demonstrating both politeness and genuine willingness to assist. Approaches every task with a positive attitude and treats everyone equally, showing respect and fairness across all interactions.”
“Presentable, polite, always with a smile. Communicates well and is very understanding.”
Now that we’ve heard from the nominators, it’s time to hear from the Ambassadors themselves. This isn’t just a leadership programme — it’s Oceanus’ way of connecting hearts and strategy. Over the past six months, our Ambassadors have stepped into a unique role: not just learning, but leading from within — helping bridge perspectives across departments, aligning teams under shared values, and building the human glue that keeps a multi-CEO organisation connected.
Stay tuned as we dive into what drives them, what they’ve learned, and how 2025 is shaping up to be a year of people-powered change.
