Former minister Yaacob Ibrahim joins Oceanus as independent director
Former Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim has joined Oceanus Group as an independent director on September 1.
Yaacob is currently a professor of engineering at the Singapore Institute of Technology, where he is also advisor to the president of SIT.
In addition to the board of Oceanus Group, Yaacob also sits on several boards of private companies and unions.

On August 13, the homegrown premium seafood value chain manager reported a net profit of RMB3.6 million ($711,611) for the 1H20 ended June from a net loss of RMB6.2 million over the same period a year ago.
Shares in Oceanus closed 0.1 cent higher, or 16.7% up, at 0.7 cent on September 1.
